    ZF to 200TDI

Right, it seems my plans have been unravelled yet again and I best clarify this before I make an a*se of myself at a Land Rover specialist.

If one wants to fit a ZF automatic to a 200Tdi Discovery (and don't tell me that they never came like this because they did, we just never got them here), which bellhousing is needed? Is it a specific 200Tdi auto disco bellhousing or is the 300Tdi auto disco one the same?

Moving on to the drive plate. The 200Tdi auto one is listed as FTC4049. Is this going to be available? I thought it was the same as the 300Tdi one, it rather ambiguous... can someone with a parts manual clarify this please?

Moving onto the torque converter, STC1580, good this is for both 200 and 300, and the box itself FTC2756 as well.

FFS someone please answer my prayers and steal this vehicle.

the box, converter and the crank parts are all the same as the 300, only difference is the engine backplate, this needs to be the 200 one, part number ERR 4612,

Yes and no. Essentially the same box, but with detail differences. In particular the torque convertor won't be interchangeable.

Thanks. So if worse comes to worse I have the part number to buy the correct backplate.

Or maybe a new low k diesel auto 4wd?

I'd never find a Disco 200 Auto here, and wouldn't it be pointless to put a 300Tdi and auto into a LA chassis Disco? Esp. considering that my diesel engine is in excellent working order and has had a lot replaced/rebuilt on it.

I honestly have no idea where to go from here, I'd like to get my disco back on the road but maybe its time to get out of the LR game...

Lets not get carried away, just find a good LT77 if 1 exists or replace with an R380, cheaper to keep it manual than shell out for a 2nd hand auto you dont know the condition of and waste even more money.
