I know what you mean about trying to cut back.

Some people in the UK are putting together a VNT turbo for the TD5. They have managed to source housings that make it pretty much bolt in. It uses the stock exhaust manifold and dump pipe, and the stock air inlet pipework.

There followed several requests from others for a VNT to suit the 300Tdi. They replied that they would look at that after the TD5 kit is out.

Thinking that it may help with producing a kit for the 300Tdi, I posted some pics showing the Garrett designations cast into the turbine and compressor housing and etched to the serial patch on the compressor.

These pics, as below are of the VNT from a 2.8. that I had on the 300Tdi in my rangie.

That's interesting. The GT2256V I have (which I intend to fit to my 4BD1T, currently hampered by no workshop) is from a mercedes 2.7L diesel, the ML270CDI I believe.
Exhaust side is similar, same A/R, same V band attachment but I have a very strange shaped mounting flange.
The compressor cover is quite different, with an angled neck, A/R is 0.53
Model Number: 709838-1 Made in France.

It fits!
There's a bloke I know who makes an sells VGT kits using the 200 manifold.
Shame such manifold seems no longer available as spare (it costed more than 200€ anyway!!!).
