300 tdi lift pump q

ok my lift pump hand primer doesnt work any more for some reason are these known to fail the engine is slightly down on power but is blowing heaps of black fat so it isnt starving for fuel i will be checking intercooler piping this weekend but was wondering about the lift pump are they rebuildable?
i have already resealed the vac pump steer pump water pump may as well rebuild the lift pump

Sounds like your lift pump has left. I don't think they can be rebuilded.

Someone mentioned a rebuild kit a couple of years ago, but he's since denied ever mentioning it.

Dayco make them.I got my last one for $52.I have often wondered about trying a series model pump as they are rebuildable but for $52 why bother! Pat

Dayco or Delphi ?

Anyway, the body is crimped so they can't be rebuilt.
The old lift pump on my tractor can be, as the body is screwed together. It needs a service (it's leaking quite badly) so it will be interesting to see how much a kit is vs a new pump is from Bareco.

As the boys have said get a new one just replaced mine the other week bought a new one from the good people at karcraft Delphi part No HFP502 and dont forget to buy new olives 2 of NRC9770 and NRC9771.
