Yep, the longer spring goes on the drivers side. I guess the manufacturer think we are all fat buggers that drive alone all the time...hang on...hmmm maybe they have something there.

I am the driver of the disco ARE you lot saying that I am FAT![]() Mrs ho har ![]() Originals were 14mm The current King springs 16mm and wanting to put Defender ones in are 16mm(not new) also and same height do you think the defender ones will make a difference????? ho har

If the defender ones are the same free length, the same diameter and have the same number of coils, then apart from the fact that they MAY be of a better tensile strength, I wouldn't bother replacing them. ![]() (Mostly due to the fact that replacing front springs is more of a pain than rears..) ![]() ![]() ![]() With D1's equipped with swaybars, I disconnect the front one, and drop the brake lines down through their brackets to allow more droop to get the spring out without removing the turret and shock. (Works best with oil shocks not gas, as you can compress the oil ones up out of the way further to remove the spring...) JC |
