    Provent Oil accumulation

After my provent installation, I ran the vehicle for a week or so after an oil change, I checked the provent filter and I found an amount of oil accumulated at the top of the filter element.

Could this be residual oil that hadn't drained to the sump when I did an oil change and the blow by has had a larger amount present at the top of the motor to push into the filter than I would normally have.

You may consider resizing that pic to something a little less a 1000 gigabytes and the size of a drive in move screen.

That is the inlet side, so you would expect it to be oily.

However, looks like a lot in there, which suggests your engine may be a heavy breather.

Just checked my provent. Just under 1000km after installation, mostly highway on a run to Cooktown and abouts.

Its hard to tell even from your "1000 Gig" image but i would hazard a guess that mine is showing a similar amount of oil in the top of the housing. Interestingly Id say about the bottom third of the outside filer media is oil soaked. I guess this is what condenses the oil mist to liquid however I wonder how far up the filter media the oil soak is?

ps I too have removed the factory PCV cyclone.

I have retained the original breather and mine is filthy after 4000k. But the outlet line is spotless, so it's all good, but it beggars the question of filter change intervals?
