Two more winch questions...

What's the best method of putting an isolator switch into the winch circuit?

I'm thinking a good heavy duty isolator switch and therefore the next question...

Where to mount it, close to the winch or close to the battery?

Hi Derek,
Isolate the positive, and have the isolator poking through the front of the seat box under the passengers legs.(Battery box etc)

A Hella 'key' type one will do the trick, I can let you have the part number when I'm at work tomorrow if you need it?

Yes please part number would help.

I was thinking of the keyed type. May be a tight fit in front of the battery box as there is already 2 circuit breakers, a traxide dual battery controller and some other stuff up against that wall of the box. Anyway I'll find somewhere.

Why do you feel that you need an isolator switch for. It is just something else to go wrong, lose the key, or burn out because it can't take the amps.

If it is just to stop someone activating the winch, there are other methods.
