After having a bit of a noise on the front end of the 90 found out the front prop on the 90 was nackered. The spline was totally nackered so needed a new prop.

Went to the local Land rover speaclist scrap place and asked them for a Defender front prop for a 300 TDi . And was told

ooooohhhhhh Nah don't have any of them , they are really rare and will cost a fortune second hand .

Oh ok i said well do you have a 300 TDi or 3.9 V8 disco one .

Oh yeah i have loads of them , they are alot cheaper than the defender ones

Ok i will have one of them then


So Put the 3.9 V8 Disco one which i got, on the 90 and up and about again

Moral The are the same propshafts. So if you want a second hand front prop for your defender 300 TDi then go and get a disco one

yep, there all the same till you hit the TD5 defender range, then you get a wider/stronger uni. 1310series not 1300.
