Can you rotate clutch housing on winch?

Ian and I started the Warn XDC winch install on my Defender bar today. Looks like I'll need to rotate the clutch housing. Can anyone tell me if its OK to just undo all the bolts rotate it 90° and tighten everything back up

Also have to loosen the motor off and move the drain - haven't forgotten that part!

Any advice welcome, including were to put the control box on a 2008 Defender.

On an XD9000 you can rotate the gearbox (with clutch lever) to any position, as you say remove the caphead bolts, slide box back a little and rotate to desired possie, it will engage in the indents then bolt it back up again.

    Yes you can.
The drain hole should be facing down...

From memory (it has been a good many years) the bolts aren't evenly spaced, so you can't rotated by increments of 1 bolt, but only by increments of 2 bolts.

Looking at it I suspected a much, but I think it should be right for 90° turn.

Bloody Americans and their bloody imperial bolt sizes

I lost all my imperial sized sockets and spanners in a wreck 6 years ago ... had to go visit a friend and borrow a couple of spanners!
