    Bilsteins for Defender?

    Gday

Im after a new set of shockies for the Defender.

I know this has been over a few times ( I did a quick search ), and only found out what was good or bad.

Im looking for a ride that is softer than the standard shockies, but a bit harder than the Old Man Emu Nitro Chargers that I had in the old Defender.

Will Bilsteins do this for me or can anyone suggest something else? With a budget of less than $500

    Thanks for your help

Bilsteins will cost you about $200ea. If it's lifted and you need the rear shocks modified to suit, then $250ea.

If your current shocks are good, it may be cheaper to change your springs to a differant rate.

I was looking through the other threads and they said something like $450 to $490 for a set of four?

Im still riding on standard shockies, and the front are starting to make noises So thought while Justin has the rear diff out, and is switching over my front springs he could stick a new set of shockies in

I already have a set of the HD 130 Springs that I bought just before my blue Defender took a tumble. So Im not really keen on new springs, just the shockies

    Thanks

I fitted a set of Bilesteins and they definitely rode better than my 3 year old factory shocks

I've had billies but both my LR's are fitted with koni's now.For me the koni's are better. My last set were $390 for Koni 30 series mono tubes,40 series are twin tube but are overkill on a road vehicle and are $495 a pair.Don't be tempted by cheap shocks, save your money and buy either brand, both are above anything else.
