Results are in, Dyno figures D/gas

Well got the Tdi on the dyno,The result,I have 65 Hp and 125 FtLb of torque at the wheels running straight diesel,on Diesel/gas it produces 77 Hp and 150FtLb of torque. My vehicles has 255/85/16 tyres that the dyno owner said would be hurting the output but I'm happy with the result. The engine is stock,no fueling mods done or any other thing,I didn't want it touched as it has too many K's to start playing with it.I am happy as you don't notice the extra power,it's too heavy but it revs cleaner, thats the first thing the operator said so I'm not the only one to notice. While I was there I was supprised to see a few dyno sheets of other engines, the tojo and nissan sixes were only around 10 hp and the turbo's around 20 in front, not much for two extra pots and almost 2 litres more capacity. Nice figures, what is the mixture of gas/deisel and how does it help consumption/running costs? I run my Range Rover on LPG and it has saved me a LOT but it uses a lot more LPG than petrol, luckily the LPG price is enough to make it worthwhile. No idea how it works in Diesel's though.

On a side note my Hero(not really but he is funny) comes from Kalgoorlie, seen him live in Scotland twice, sure you know who I mean....

geez i thought you may have got a few more hp's

i raised mine to 95hp by tweaking the pump, it may be a little less now as it was adjusted back a little to reduce smoke

    oops, running 235/85/16

I assumed it was a non turbo for some reason but reading back it does say TDi...... So yes I would have expected slightly more but remember it is at the wheels so still plenty for off road fun

Also remember it has 407,000km's on it and the tyres are 33.2 inches so they would be holding it back.It also only gets 650km's to a tank where's on 235/85/16 tyres it would easily get 700 and it would go to 140km/hr but now only does 130 so the tyres have a bearing on performance. On 7.50x16's the figures would be higher. The dyno owner is just wrong. Doesn't understand the basics. What gear was it tested in? Usually third.

Tyre size doesn't matter. The gear selected doesn't matter. The dyno will compute the load against the revs of the drum.

I was waiting for someone to say something, also those figures aren't very high, especially the torque to the rear wheels.

    from the Dieselgas Australia website.
