    TD5 Fuel Pressure Regulator

I noted the previous thread on fuel pressure regulator fuel leaks and that a repair kit is not available. Has anyone tried sourcing O rings for the regulator since?
How much for a new regulator?
I'm debating whether to pull the regulator down and attempt to get new O rings or buy a new regulator. Either way I'm running out of time for the Easter trip.
    Thanks

When mine was due I decided to swap the complete unit. Takes about an hour. I have heard of some who did attempts to repair the part, with varying degrees of success. I reckon the price tag will be somewhere between AUD 200-300.

Mine cost about $230. I was told by my mechanic that there was definitely no or-ring kit for it and that it was a complete replacement.

It might be an easier job on the Td5 in the defender, but its a bugger to get to on the disco!

Yep, it's easier on a Defender.

I have kept my old one as I was planning to pull it down and look into the o rings. getting one should be possible once you know the size.

    O ring part numbers

Well for once, I have had a win.
Checked with Landrover, as already stated they don't supply repair kits for the fuel px regulator and want $300 for a replacement.
I went to a Transeals at Atlas Court in Welshpool (ph 94516011) and they were able to supply the required orings IAW my sample at a total cost of $9.30.
    The part numbers are:

    • for the fuel line inlet and outlet fittings 6X1-5V7 - 6.0 by 1.5 mm Viton-75

    • for regulator 106V7 - 0.174 by 0.103" Viton-75

    • for regulator 117V7 - 0.799 by 0.103" Viton-75

To do the job all that is needed is normal hand tools and a reasonable medium sized circlip pliers to remove the regulator diaphram assembly.

    So far no further leaks.
    Cheers

    Hi Graz,

You don't happen to have a step by step for doing this do ya? Mine is leaking on my 2002 II Disco' TD5 and I would much rather know that I could pre-order in the seals, etc (I assume my unit is the same one on yours).

Let me know and I might even tackle this during the week.

    Cheers,

    Pete'

    Hi Dave,

That's fantastic news! I'll talk to the local bolts, bearings and seals place about these ones mentioned by Graz and those coupled with your "How to" will hold me in good stead.

I assume you'll post this up into Tutorial once you've finished?

    cheers,

    Pete'
