    D1 rear power windows

The rear windows in my D1 won't work for the first 5-10 mins after start up. After that they start to work just fine. It started happening just occasionally, but now happens almost every time I get in the car. If I turn the car off with the rear windows still down, when I restart the car they will work fine. Anyone had any problems with this and know where I should start? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

You may need to replace the window lift ECU - its located in the passenger footwell. TRS were selling s/h for $75 a while back. Usually it's the dry solder joints.

No need to replace it. Remove it and fix the fault. Search the 'net and you will find links to an article on fixing it.

In fact, you'll find the link in this forum.

This is a well known D1 problem. There is a very good thread somewhere here about how to fix it. In the thread it shows which bit needs to be soldered. Very easy even I managed it.

I did it!! My soldery bit was like the one in the photo at disco web. I have never soldered anything on a mightly complicated looking thing such as this before. By Crikey I am so chuffed it's ridiculous, thanks to everyone who found this out hey! The internet has delivered BIG TIME, now the kids can breath when I leave them at the casino!! Fancy that hey, I NEVER would have found that fault myself.... like NEVER!

PS; Don't unscrew the glove box, just lift up the tabs against the spring and it drops down.
