D2 rear recovery points + hi lift tubes.

Here is the recovery points and hi lift jack points I added to a STD D2 rear bumper.

    Brackets installed.
Bolts are M12 torqued to 85Nm.
The hook are rated for 10000Lbs each (5.2T) and are STD issue on Cruisers and old Hilux.

Trail fit for bumper GRP frame.

    View from bottom.

Each hook has 3 M12 Gr 8.8 bolts.

    Bumper body cut and fitted.

Hooks will always be used with bridle strap to distribute load between the two recovery hooks.

If the last photo is not good enough resolution, I will re-attach it with a better resolution.

Is the spare tyre in the way of the jack when using the one on the right?

    Hi Pedro
Not sure but most likely as most after market bars are of hollow section
    construction and not as sturdy.

    Dougal
The spare overhangs the bumper by about 3cm but I plan to move it left and make place for the high lift jack.

    Hi Pedro,
In South Africa they use European type tow balls so if you look at the pics you will see 2 lines of bolt holes on the verticle rear plate, they bolt on using 2 bolts on either side of the cast hitch ball plate????
    Cheers

I am wrong about the 3cm but it does fit. For scale, the tyre is 245 wide.
I also saw a potential problem. The adaptor on Hi Lift does not fit quite parralel and this has the jack at not vertical position.

Will post a photo of tow ball but only in 24H's time. Going to sleep soon.

Had to remone the tow ball and fixture.
The moles was starting to complain that I was digging up their burrows.

Having second look at this pucture I realized the the jack is too short.
The wheels will be barely of the ground at full lift if at all.
