Isn't it just typical when your about to trade out of a vehicle something major craps its self
Just about to trade up my old MJ Triton over the next few weeks. Depending what I purchase next the trade will be 4 to 6k so not real keen on putting 2.5k (Quote for a reco + fitting)into it nowLooks like I may have to pull it out here and try to stick a band aid on it, ie only replace the knacked bearing and stick it back together. Take me at least two days to do it here.
Now looking for a secondhand box but are scarce.
Got the box and transfer out this arvo. Only took three beersDamn these things are easy to get at compared to some. Haven't ventured into the box yet but the spigot bearing appears to have taken leave a wile back
The input feels very lose and growly to turn so not good

Got the new bearings yesterday so got into it today. Just got to get the stupid C clip back onto the main shaft now and all is good.
The original input bearing was sealedNo wonder they starve for oil. Got me buggered how it lasted this long actually.
The spigot was so shot I had to use the oxy to get the remains of it out
My wife did mention a wile back it was hard to get into gear and has since developed a clutch shudder. Then the noiseIt gave plenty of warning.
All back together and feels much better
Now where is my clutch alignment toolArgh..... I get so annoyed when I lend things out and now have to chase it back
Be easier to make a new one
A bolt with eleco tape over it

Any one wanna give me a hand to shove the box back inShould only take three beers to do it
I'm going to give it a go now on my own but will be awkward as don't have a tranny lifter here.![]()
