    New Toy!!!

Well, our new toy arrived from Qld today!!!!
    It's a used Trayon, 1980 wide and I think 2200 long.
I was worried about both the width and the length, but I think it sits okay.
She drove really nicely on the freeway at 100 on the way home, so I'm wrapped
I'm not a serious 4wd'er, and we didn't want to tow anything.
Now to make up some hooks and fittings to hold it in place.
I'm so wrapped, I just had to tell everyone!

    Cheers,

    Fraser

    Thanks guys!
Now to work out where to install my AGM battery and solar regulator, then where to put the hot water heater and the shower (need to see where they are on the newer Trayons)
    Lot's of fun.......

I have a really nice Webasto Thermotop c-z (I think it is) but the controller board is shot, been thinking of a Truma 14lt LPG, as the camper has a 9kg gas bottle already for the fridge and stove.
There is a nice spot at the rear, under one of the seats where it would fit nicely. Very small exhaust outlet on them too, and they are an all stainless tank.

Nice unit, I think the couple who do the 'Boiling Billy' publications have similar.
Just 'eye-balling' the over hang on the rear, it must be close to the 60% of wheelbase allowance.
    cheers

Is that the legal limit austastar?
I'll have to measure it to see what it is.
I don't think your "run-of-the-mill" policeman will look twice at it, I also doubt Vic-Roads fellows would bother with a privately owned ute when there are so many trucks on the road these days.
Still, I guess that means I'm allowed 78 inches of overhang from the axles' centre?

Measured it this morning, it's 62" from the axle centerline to the rear of the camper, so I'm fine I guess!
    Thanks for the thought though.
