I don't think that particular video was a good demonstration of hooning. The only thing that makes it seem like hooning is the loud exhaust and high revs. But at the end of the day he was in low ratio.

Sure he took that a little quick but he was just having some fun. The only thing that he risked was hitting a tree and doing damage to his own car. Anyway, in that particular video that hiline put up, you could have walked down there to try and find where his tyre tracks were and I would say you would have some trouble picking them out from any other 4wd that took the same path recently.

I would tag hooning as speeding on the tracks (I guess you need to define speeding), burnouts, doughnuts and driving off the track and damaging the vegetation for no real reason (although not really hooning, but still something that shouldn't be done).

as per some peoples comments about needing extra speed, dont see how on earth it was needed here
well it wasn't last time we did that part of the track in standard cars

and if you'd like proof i have plenty of pics of standard cars driving that section with ease

every one is keen to point a finger at what hooning is!!!! i haven't seen it on here yet, and no one has made a comparison to rally those guys belt up dirt roads and tracks just about every weekend in every state and territory in Oz, but how come no one is hi lighting that type of driving as hooning?? is because its racing.
Or is that no one on here is a hoon, just every day guys and gals using there LH for what it was made for. some people are just looking for a soft target on their witch hunt, saddly we fall into that catergory..
Thats my two bob...

Yes but rallying is, as you stated, racing, and as such is held on a closed course with permission to do so, and done by drivers who hold a licence to do so, with support crews, medical teams, sweep cars, etc. That has absolutely nothing to do with people posting videos of themselves "conquering" bush tracks in an improper manner, that could be potentially be held up by greenies as a reason to close those same tracks.
