New Fault Code Reader From Blackbox Solutions
Hi Everyone.
I know most readers are probably quite familiar with the likes of the Nanocom, Hawkeye and Faultmate diagnostic systems, and hopefully, if cost were not a consideration, most would likely plump for the Faultmate from Blackbox Solutions. However, in line with it's top of the line capability, the Faultmate is also the most expensive by a fair way and so is unlikely to be what you would likely get from Santa. However all is not lost, because Blackbox have been working hard and can now offer a new tool that costs even less than anything else in the form of the new FAULTMATE FCR. The Faultmate FCR is designed and manufactured specifically for reading and clearing all possible fault codes on every system with built in self diagnostic capability on board each Land Rover model it covers. ![]() If anyone is curious as to what vehicles and on board systems it currently covers, it is very extensive - Disco 3, Disco 4, RR Sport, RR L322, Defender and Freelander 2. In the new year we will be extending our range of vehicles to include non-CAN Bus Land Rovers To see the current full coverage list of vehicles and systems currently covered, click below. http://www.blackbox-solutions.com/download...te_FCR.pdf Don't worry if your older P38 of Disco II is not currently covered, as stated it very soon will be The price is the same for all models, just £199 (€208.11) + shipping, and it is single vehicle. Although one must not forget, this is the retail price and before the 10% discount we offer AULRO members which is featured elsewhere in The Verandah applies ;-) Much more info can be obtained by reading the literature for it here. http://www.blackbox-solutions.com/download...te_FCR.pdf Here is a video of it being used on a Discovery 3 http://www.blackbox-solutions.com/downloads/videos/FCR.html If anyone has any further questions, or comments to make, please feel free. |

Colin, I have done quite abit of research on the capabilities of your products and being a keen Landrover enthusiast I am heavily involved with other landrover forums and write many threads on my experiences. I am soldier based in Episkopi, 22 km from Limassol at the begining of the year I visited your offices in Limassol to make enquires about the purchase of a SV 220 Extreme system for my Range Rover Vogue. The person at the time was helpful (Ron) and he made time to talk through what I would need. Unfortunately due to circumstances out of my control (family bereavment) I had to hold back on my purchase.
Just short of two weeks ago I re-addressed the purchase but through a series of communication problems and emails that your Limassol office alledegly never received I ended up having to walk away from the deal unhappy. The purchase of the SV220 would have meant a total of three visits to your premises (112km), 4 emails and 5 hours off work, hence why I didn't proceed. My point, plus a mild warning to others on this forum is that if I can have so many problems living only 22 km away from where your main offices are located, then what are the guys going to experience who live down under. Your systems are not cheap and for what you charge one would have thought the service might have been better. I am still keen to purchase, but I won't be out of pocket anymore than what you have caused thus far. xixal (al.barker@virgin.net) |

Hiya xixal.
Firstly let me welcome you to the AULRO board, as i note that you have only just joined today and this is actually your very first post here ![]() I am myself a very active, contributary and seemingly appreciated member of many LR boards, although i don't actually have very many posts on this board compared to some others, hopefully you will note how many times i have been thanked, which should give an indication of my contributary factor. I am actually even a member of a board based in Cyprus. So given your statement Quote:
You will also perhaps appreciate my curiosity as to why you chose an AU based board to join, but non the less, and regardless of the apparent disparity, unphased, i will quite happily address your issues and points anywhere you wish. Before doing so however, i offer my apologies to this boards ownership and moderation for it being so used to seemingly air a private dispute, and hope they will accept my posting in direct response to me being directly by name as merely my exercising my fair right to defend myself. Firstly xixal, let me assure you that i am fully up to speed in respect of all aspects of your dealings with my company and it's staff. I am of course sorry you have been dissapointed on your numerous personal visits to our offices, however as with almost all companies who are not shops, we simply do not accept casual callers to our offices under any circumstances. A factor to which you were politely explained at the very start. Your allegedly sending us an E-mail saying when you would turn up, really does not constitute a 100% fixed and agreed appointment, unlike when Ron made and confirmed an appointment with you that you did not keep. I am sure you would not send the men under your command into battle on the basis of having obtained air support by the simple sending of an E-mail and a hope that they got it ;-) However despite this, in order to accomodate you and minimise your possible inconvinience, my admin staff were actually willing to run round and sort you out, without any prior notice and so informed you that this could be done inside just 40 minutes, explaining that the system components have to be gathered up and fully tested as a set, but you declined to wait. My findings in this case are therefore that my staff have been most professional and courteous to you at all times, as they are to all, and while you may well have and express a different opinion, in fact my Admin staff are frequently highly commended for their exceptional service level. Certainly we have supplied many hundreds of customers down under and elsewhere, without any problems, as i am sure many will add their own attesting to. Quote:
You can also be assured that if you do choose visit our offices again, with pre agreed appointment or otherwise, i look forward to introducing myself to you in person. Last edited by BBS Guy; 7th July 2010 at 04:32 AM. |

Hi Everyone,
I thought I'd let you how we have been getting on with the development of the Faultmate FCR. In March we launched the FCR for Range Rover L322, 2002-2004. Therefore the FCR now covers all L322s. This is no mean feat as the L322 has, over the years, had a mixture of legacy and CAN Bus systems fitted. Today we are launching the FCR for Range Rover P38 - all years and all models. This has taken more time to develop than we envisaged, but we wanted to make sure it was 100% reliable before we released it. Look at the first post on this thread for more details on the Faultmate FCR and don't forget our offer of 10% for AULRO Forum members. |
