When we were up there at Easter, Mockery had a few very good attempts at that hill in his FL, but always managed to not quit get there due to a real dip and soft sand just before the top.

There's a video of him trying it here, from about halfway through the clip, but from a different angle.

The rest of us (inc me!) bottled out....

The last guy giving it a try was in a Jackeroo, who we came across there, and was totally caning it up that hill a number of times but got no further than the FL.

Hahahaha!!!

Nick, if you decide to go that way again, give us a shout first. I'm only in Carramar, so it's not too far from me to come out for a play for a few hours....

Cheers,

Didn't realise that was the same hill.

It doesn't look as big when looking down on it.

Good on ya Nick for kicking its arse!

Some more clips of the dunes in 2 rocks. The sand at the top was deeply rutted and very soft......so speed was imperative to make a clean pass. I've tried these dunes in the better halves X-Trail and although light and fast always got hung up just before the top in the rutted soft stuff. My V8 D1 manual had no problems and Nicks TD5 auto once wound up flew up too. Was a fun afternoon

Cheers
Mike

I think you'll all agree that while I got up the hill, the V8 really 'kicked it's arse'

I doubt I'll ever own one, but you've gotta love the sound of someone giving it what for.

Nick.

Cheers HangOver.....as you say wasn't the biggest sand dune ever but was pretty steep in the last 1/4 with fairly big ruts and very soft sand. With tyres down <13psi (i was at 12 and Nick at 10) and a heavy right foot most fourby's would have a decent crack at it

Cheers
Mike
