Powerlines Saturday

After a few technical hitches we're back.

Again a brilliant trip organized by beefy.

Early incidents.

Mike (hibees) and I have an unwitten rule that what one does the other has to follow. So I eye spied a puddle that on the lifted D2 was washing over the bonnet. Mike in his stock D1 V8
followed, and half way through there was a bang from under the water, followed by a coughing V8. This was him upon exit.

After we all stopped laughing and the water had finished draining from the car, it appears that he might have slightly bent a steering arm, not to mention the new look number plate. Undeterred, he carried on.

Next a gnarley clay rutted climb, with several axle swapping holes 2-3 feet deep. Taff made it look so easy in his unstoppable 90 I thought to give it a go.

After this I have come to the conclusion that the D2 traction control is bloody brilliant.

Last for this post is hangover lifting a wheel....about 4 ft, although it does not look it. well airborne.

All in all a great day out and more to come.

cheers
Nick

Traction control.- you can't beat it! You know what? With a bit of rain this week, everybody with a 4wd was out having a play, and it was painfully obvious how brutal the hilux's, surfs and landrcruisers had to be to negotiate some of the obstacles, where the landies could just crawl it with out risking the same wear and tear.

Another clip. Really really tight steep slippery track out. I was pushing on the bank as we went through to keep the car off it.

cheers
