Mundaring is done - Where to next - Moore River?

I reckon that as soon as D3Jon gets his county back to a 4WD we head off somewhere. I really have the bug now and I am becoming more confident with each trip that I take with you guys.

I really want to catch up with The Desert Fox on a trip and I think he is eager to get his defender dirty also.

If anyone is interested in a trip in the near future put down some suggestions here and as soon as Jon is ready (no pressure........... is it done yet?) then I feel we should hit the tracks.

Can't wait to catch up again, the gf said you all seemed a great bunch of guys but I checked your criminal histories and i'll be keeping women and small children away from the majority of you weirdos

MAT

Hey Mat
Well, now that I have my CDL in (& numerous other things fixed) I'm keen, as it's just up the road from me...still have a fuel pump issue but only if the tank's low (so just have to keep it full, doh!)
Cheers

Fuel pump issue TD5

Hi Mike,
If you are having trouble with your fuel pump when low on fuel, I had the same trouble brought a new pump, then nothing to lose stripped the old one out there is a very fine filter in under all the covers cleaned mine out nothing wrong with it now now have a spare one on the shelf.
Moore river sounds good.

The back of Moore river is a good day out but tick infested (like the impact range in Lancelin).
I sorta remember the route through the back that takes across and up the river a couple of times and some relatively challenging bits.
I think Bradtot may have the route GPSéd.
The 130 is reaching it "extended trials" stage so could be up for a "mission".

That's interesting as I've got a spare one sitting around and I might have a look...
I was told that one of the issues with the Td5 pump was that if the seal in the pump body is U/S it lets the fuel drain back out (in a low tank), but I'll check that out...
Cheers

Nope the tub is the original. My old man and his brother bought my series from an army auction in 72 (before i was born) and have kept it garaged ever since.

They hardly drove it and I am very appreciative of that as it is in great nick.

The 110 is fully functional again with 4WD (was a front driving member that failed). Also fully re-built the front hubs with new bearings and seals and re-built both swivels with new bearings, seals, swivel pins and bushes, etc. Massive thanks to TimNZ for all his help with that.

As the car's now fixed and I'd talked to quite a few people last weekend about a Moore River trip, I've organised one for 7th Feb 2010 (as this weekend would be a bit too short notice for most I think).

See Moore River trip post here: WAULRO Trip, Moore River & Nine Mile Swamp - Sunday 7 Feb 2010

If you're keen then please register you're interest in the (linked) post above.

Cheers,

Jon
