2.25 one I'm afraid.

Can't seem to get it to pump fuel out of the tank, and it is brand new too.

Pulled a fair bit of pressure on the bench with my thumb over the inlet.

I must be missing something...

If you have a air compressor ..... give the fuel line a blast of air back to the tank .... You might have a blocked fuel line / remember to take the fuel cap off if you do it ..

Second thoughts .... Check your fuel lines for blockages .... disconnect it from the fuel tank and blow air down the fuel line
Reason for the disconnect from fuel tank is that you don't want rust particals to end up in your carbie

You didn't use the Building inspector recommended by the Real Estate did you???

The real-estate tried to push us to use their building and pest people when we bought our house (their pest people even did an inspection and sent us an invoice even though we said we weren't using them!!!).

We chose our own building inspector (who came highly recommended) - but I was worried when he seemed to be trying harder to sell us the house than the real estate was!!! There were a few things we found later which he definitely should have picked up on...

Fortunately in our case, the house was a fixer-upper, and I had given it a good inspection myself so knew what we were in for. No nasty surprises later for us fortunately...

IME, good, impartial building inspectors are hard to find...

Anyway, re the fuel pump. let me know your location and if I am nearby I could come and have a look. If it is brand new it should be OK. How is the cam lobe it runs on???

Me and the missus recently bought a fixer upper too (nearly fully renovated inside now too ). We used Houspect for the building inspection and they were very helpful. We were only given 7 days to get the building and pest inspections done and the Houspect mob were able to get a guy out a day after the phone call and provide a report that very same day, as well as call me straight after the inspection to let me know what he found. He picked up on all the major faults and maintenance areas.

As for contracts the previous owner just wanted to be rid of the place and was not going to spend any money period so we had a clause in our contract stating that we could pull out if we were not satisfied with the building or pest inspections, no matter how trivial. I thought most contracts were dependent on the building and pest inspections in some way, otherwise whats the point in having them??

Let us know how it goes HarlingtonStraker.

My son bought a house which had all approvals according to the real estate agent for work done but it wasn't until he wanted to sell he found out it was all bull from her.
She had a close relationship with someone in the council building dept. plus the sellers and there was nothing he could do except spend money getting things fixed before he could sell it.
Be very wary of these commission agents, they're not considered on a par with car salesman for nothing, and don't expect REIWA to do much except make a few disapproving noises!
Alan.

Tsk Tsk Tsk .... with some finger waging .....

I remember in the hype of around 2 years ago, when REIWA was complaining that the government fees was way tooooooo much and was on telly looking all mighty, puffy chest, saying that the government should slash their fees

When Allan Carpenter responded: "Well how about these agents slashing their fees" ...... haven't heard a peep from them since

On another side tho ..... Building inspections are suppose to be done by a Registered builder ..... This is not the best way to inspect a house for structural problems, as it is ONLY a ENGINEER that can determine the TRUE structural integrity of existing structure .... all a builder can do is "comment"

and a ENGINEERS report is worth gold .... cause it's the only piece of paper that can stand up in a court of law

You have to also remember though, that just because it looks good on paper, it doesn't mean that years of practical experience is wrong!
