Dead right Andy. Hope Black Betty gets the $$$ she deserves... I know she will though, from what I've seen you look after your motors.

cheers, Steve.
As Andy said, Newbies are more than welcome. Only my mud trips (like Harvey) have any restrictions, this is a perfect trip for a standard Land Rover.

The trip is a mixture of limestone capstone, soft sand sand tracks and sandy river bed (+water!!) so all that's needed is reduced tyre pressures and in the case of a Rover V8 a can of WD40!! . 9 Mile Swamp is typical Moore River sandplain, so soft sand tracks, a bit of common sense and great remote WA bush scenery is the order of the day - nothing a standard Landie or it's owner can't handle with ease!

An air compressor is a good thing to have to re-inflate tyres with, if you don't already have one then a half decent one (72 Litres/min or better) is less than $150 from Super Cheap / Malz / K Mart or your local 4WD store, but if that's not possible I can lend you one of mine (but I bet someone else will have helped you out before you have time to ask)!

Get yourself there, you'll have a hoot!

My D2 V8 and water have a bit of a history!!

Need to seriously think about this one....
See above re. WD40 Kieren , but the water is relatively low at this time of year, I was up there just 2 weeks ago with the missus for a day out and it'll be *fun* but not deep enough to cause much concern. If you've not yet seen Clarkson in a RR Classic doing a cross Bolivia trip (Season 14 Ep6 on the torrents) he recommends KY Jelly, tampons and condoms for waterproofing a V8 - Highly recommended viewing and the best Top Gear special to date IMHO.

Hope you can make it, just have to bring half the local drug store with you!!!!

Jon

Cheers Jon.
Still gonna have a think though.
Got more WD40 in the back of the Disco than I can shake a stick at, just in case!

The better half gets back from Blighty this coming Sunday too after 6 weeks away, so I could be too tired to come out next weekend...!! (leave it there!!)

I'll have a think, and let you know later next week.
My compressor is buggered too from last weekend, so if I DO come, would need to "borrow" some air for the day from someone.
(Sorted! )

Cheers guys,
