shock dust boots |

I have some Bilstein 7100 shocks that didn't come with dust boots. I understand that if you were running a prerunner it may not be an issue but for longevity do I need to put some dust boots on them?

Hi,
I'm potentially in the market for a nearly new Defender 90 and wanted to ask those of you in the know a couple of questions if I could please.
- Which would be the better motor for towing? The 2.4 or 2.2 turbo diesel? I understand that they have the same torque and power, but is one better than the other? What would you tow 4500kg boat with? |

A friend has had a boat project reaching completion. He purchased a defender 110 300tdi wagon to initially do the job as his tow vehicle. As the boat/trailer combo has now exceeded 4500kg he has had to rethink his tow vehicle. He is prepared to build a 6x6 version of his defender, which we have discussed or contemplate another vehicle which he doesn't really want to do....mainly due to costs.....he believes he can do the 6x6 conversion for around $9,000. Well, interesting selections, Dennis, Tomani, Horne , Barnes, Palu, Folau, & Cummins look set to face the Lions, While Mogg, Pyle, Toomua, & White are on the outer. Still six to go, my bet is Cooper will be in the final six. Once upon a time, you had to play for Randwick to be guaranteed selection, now it seems all the Waratahs have to do is win the toss,  Bob

just suffered a total failure of foward progress. no bangs ,no grating gears no clutch smoking /slipping etc. basicaly turning a corner at the lights and nothing.
the gearbox was fully recoed and transfer box out about 5000 kms ago, car feels as if its going into gear but thats it. clutch pedal feels normal . also no drive when diff lock in , absolutly nothing no bad noise or anything strange .the car hasnt even been on rougher than normal dirt b roads ,so no 4wding.
