I got few fuel filters with mine and they do fit. Ryco - R2045P.
I believe mine is the original item with a blue bowl mounted on the cross bar above the rear of the motor. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/im...011/11/878.jpg

Peter - that is the original fuel filter - you are either missing the water catch bowl which goes to the right or the filter or you have not put it on yet :D.
Your alternator is the wrong colour :o - I am green with envy - great looking engine.
Nice work

Thanks Peter,
I'll keep my eye out for that model number. I'll save that pic for later as I wasn't sure exactly where the fuel filters were supposed to live.
That is a very tidy looking engine

The water catch bowl was off in this pic as the bowl seal was stuffed, you can see the pipes and bolt holes to the right of the filter.
What colour is the alternator meant to be? I have seen a few pics of them this colour.

FYI, the short version of the Z9 is the Z89A.
Hi Peter the alternator is a satin (semi gloss) black - the duck egg blue type colour is either an undercoat or the colour the brits had them.
Mine is black with glimpses of duck egg under it but I also have a new unused alt (pic attached) - still has what is left of the delivery dockets and tags attached. You can see glimpses of duck egg under the black.
