Today's job....

Hi All,

The tools on the front of the 101 were looking a bit sad.. Basically the wood was rotten - you could pull it apart with your fingers:


I hunted around for a few months at various hardware stores, but I simply could not find new handles that were of the same dimensions. I wanted them the same because of the way they are attached to the front of the 101.

The solution would be to buy bigger handles and cut them down to size, but I have no wood working tools at all. The solution? A friendly visit to the local men's shed, 6 weeks later and..

And now - here they are refurbished:

I splashed out and purchased some Christmas presents for the 101 - seeing as how it's been behaving so well recently..

* Sat Nav/DVD Player/CD Player/Colour Reverse Camera/USB/Touch Screen/Radio, etc.

* CB (comes with a short/long antenna)

I had a standard video rca (yellow/red/white) cable run to the back of the 101, as the unit can output video.. The plan is to purchase a small LCD TV, connect it up to the inverter, and hence we can watch DVD's in the back...

It also comes with blue-tooth for a mobile telephone, not that I think I will ever use this based on the noise levels in a 101 !!!

Oh the same of modern toys!





Unfortunately the new temp gauge that I installed months ago stopped working (before any of this work was done) - so I need to sort that little issue out...

Perhaps I shouldn't have spoilt the 101... Only joking!!!

Small update... Made an improvement on the 101 last weekend - to help whilst out and about camping... This is mounted at the rear - a bit of light helps when setting up camp in the dark!

Well what I thought would be a small job - turned into a medium job.

I set about installing Defender seats in the 101 - wow, some of those nuts/bolts are hard to get at...

Something wasn't 100% correct with either seat - perhaps the seat was out of alignment or perhaps the original holes weren't square - but I had to drill 1 hole on each side (at least 3 of them lined up!)
