Most fuel pins are just about making smoke. Effectively disabling the boost compensator.Quote:

If you're running 45psi on the stock single turbo, then measuring drive pressure (exhaust manifold) will show you where all your power is going. I suspect it'll be an exhaust brake. Particularly if you have blocked the wastegate.
Forget the cam, but definitely need a huge intercooler. Compound turbos will be needed to eliminate your bottle-neck.
The next problem is feeding enough air in. Air filters which can actually filter big volumes of air get huge fast.

Thanks for taking the time to document this project Simon, we have all undoubtedly enjoyed following it, and have been impressed with the pace at which you achieve progress - I'm afraid that lot of the projects/ideas of gurus and experts have remained in the clouds for so long that they may never come "down to earth" (or to fruition for that matter :)).
No problem! I've enjoyed doing it, and once done, the rest of the vehicles upgrades will be shared in the 'Sitec's 101' thread. Finishing air lines this avo then hopefully get the rear tray back on too! :)
So, yesterday arvo was spent battling with Adelaide traffic, driving down to see Pete at PCB Land Rovers. As luck would have it, he had a Ser 3 LWB brake master cylinder on the shelf! Not only that, he has a stunning 101 rolling chassis with an Isuzu, 5 speed and a few other beautifully crafted extras in his workshop.... So, come on Pete... We need a new project thread as this one is all but done! ;)
Ok, this morning was spent fitting up the 1"/25mm bore Brake Master Cylinder in place of the original 3/4"/19mm Master Cylinder. Once bled, the clutch now operated correctly... but hell was it heavy! This lead to the next job of fitting up the rest of the air system. Luckily I had two new lengths of ready made heavy duty hydraulic hoses that happened to match the thread on the compressor and tank! Easy. Then the pipework was all connected.... Clutch, Gauge, D2 Govenor, and Nitto Airline connection beside the tank. I've also run the 25mm hose that will be used to shatter the peace at Melrose K5LA style!!! :p. A quick run to check for leaks and we're all gud! Pressure builds up to 130 psi, then there's a little hiss and the compressor bypasses. Pressure drops to 90 and the compressor cuts back in. Continuous air, so Im happy! Not only that, the clutch is nice and lite again!! Next was the refit of the rear tray, along with running the battery leads and air tank feed. With the tray on, and most of it back together, it was time for a decent run. On with the doors, lower sides and a spare and off we go. I figured that I need to see if the gear is going to survive, so off we go at a pace.. A bloody good pace at that. Gearing is spot on, 4 th is the 'driving' gear for really throwing it around and 5 th is perfect for cruising and/or really going for it as 140kph is achievable! With one turn to increase the fuel on the high pressure pump, the difference is huge. It really picks its feet up, and can hold 100kph and 5th gear up over the local hill headed to Williamstown..(something that was a 3rd gear flat out at 85 in the 130!!).
Jobs left to do are mount the hi/lo cable, diff lock warning light wires, make something to operate the CDL, and manufacture a new gearbox cover as there's about 200mm of engine in the load area that was not there before!! :twisted:. I also need to check the vacuum pump as the servo does not seem to be working as well as it was.... More to follow when it happens!! :)

Hopefully over the next few days. Have got a mate coming ova with his GoPro, so will try and get a vid happening soon! Wanna wrap the job up properly before I get tempted to start tanking around the place! Tho, if the 30kms this arvo are anything to go by Im not doing too well!!! :DQuote:
