There are a few threads on here - the 101 has done 2 big trips (5,000km). And many short ones. It’s also had quite a bit of work done to it - 2 engines, rear prop shaft, 2 front prop shafts, gearbox, cdl, radiator, suspension, cb/sat nav, defender seats, 2 spare tyres, removal of lpg, solar power, inverter.. Sorted now - running a treat. Ghosts 101 AdventuresGhosts 101 Adventures

    A Landy Day Out

    Hi All,

Hooked up with some Landy friends yesterday - and had a look at some beautiful birds of prey, a BBQ and then some photo's...

Hopefully I've got the bird names correct...

    An Australian Hobby:

    A Nankeen Kestrel:

    A Little Eagle:

A Barking Owl - also known as a winking Owl.. This little kritter winked (one eye at a time) at you - quite cute:

    A Wedge Tail Eagle:

    A Barn Owl (I think):

    Anyone say Tee-Pee:

8" wide rims on this - brand new tyres... Hmmm

I never get tired of looking at Chucky:

    A Series I with a 200TDI in it:

A project called "Mutley" - starts first time, great patina, needs some work..

    A nice Disco:

A lovely 2a widelight workshop - apparently only 40 of these ever made (source Mick_Marsh):

And lastly - the group shot:

    A great day out.

    Cheers,
    Grey Ghost.

    BMC Car Show

    Hi All,

Yesterday I attended the BMC car show in Bundoora - the flyer said: "Any BMC-Leyland brand, any age, any condition"... So I took the 101 along - fair to say it was the biggest thing there

Some lovely machinery - mostly Mini's & Mokes, but some Healeys, MGs, Austins, etc..

Here are some pictures that I took on the day.

Notice anything strange about this Moke? Apart from the large wheels, apart from the seats pushed back, apart from the deep dashboard? That "351" badge is real - because it has a 351 in it... Rear Wheel Drive..

A lovely SD1 - there was also a black one there, but he vanished before I took a photo:

    A 2 Door - note the badging...

I bumped into a few AULROians there...

It wasn't hard finding where I parked the 101, but I had to wait a while for the mini's to leave...

I hadn't actually planned on going to this event - it popped-up on my Facebook the night before. I had to re-arrange a few things but managed to go.. Good day out.

    Cheers,
    GG.

    Corowa 2018

    Hi All,

Headed up to Corowa last Friday - once I had set-up camp, the first thing that I had a look at was the Electric Lightweight - a very impressive vehicle:

IMG_3041 by Grey Ghost, on Flickr

The next day - lining up in the car park ready for the parade:

IMG_3043 by Grey Ghost, on Flickr

    Somebody say "Perentie" ?

IMG_3045 by Grey Ghost, on Flickr

    A few 101's:

IMG_3046 by Grey Ghost, on Flickr

After the parade we all headed off to the Showgrounds for the swap meet.. The 101 group grew a little bigger - 5 now:

IMG_3048 by Grey Ghost, on Flickr

    And more Land Rover's...

    Some 6 x 6's

    More Perenties

Did somebody say "Gun Buggy".... Hmmm 6 - that's got to be some kind of record!

IMG_3088 by Grey Ghost, on Flickr

    The 101's grew to 7:

IMG_3092 by Grey Ghost, on Flickr

IMG_3097 by Grey Ghost, on Flickr

Driving home in the Perentie we came across 2 x Mogs & 2 x Mercs (in service). They seemed to be doing about 80kmh - I am guessing due to the speed of the Mogs.

IMG_3098 by Grey Ghost, on Flickr

IMG_3099 by Grey Ghost, on Flickr

IMG_3100 by Grey Ghost, on Flickr

The mighty Perentie went past the last Mog - just as it pulled over in a big cloud of white smoke... I'm guessing something went bang... Later we saw an Army Mack truck heading north from Pucka - probably to pickup the dead Mog...

A great weekend spent with great people.

    The 101 recorded a great 20.5 L/100km and the Perentie did about 12 L/100km...

Off to Cooma in a few weeks time.

    Cheers,
    GG.

80klms/hr was the standard convoy speed (at least when I was in). Surprised that a mog blew up before the other Benz's

    Some great photos in there.

I think I will put Corowa on my list for next year when I will be living in Wagga.

    Cooma - Day 1

So Wednesday after work we left home at 6:30pm and drove up to "The Farm" outside of Albury - in convoy with Marcus and Leeane.

The 101 was already at the farm (having had a rest there since Corowa) and some fellow AULROians were already there waiting for us.

We arrived just after 10pm - and had a chat with Mick & Jill, Chris & Sandy, and Gav. I think that everybody was quite excited about the trip to Cooma - I know that I was!

Thursday morning we all awoke to this lovely sunrise:

IMG_3116 by Grey Ghost, on Flickr

We then checked the tyre pressures on the 101's - all good:

IMG_3117 by Grey Ghost, on Flickr

After a lovely drive through the mountains (although at times a little stressful) and about 6+ hours, I arrived and set-up camp:
