Razza, you wont loose any clearance with the twin scuba tanks, but you will loose boot space if you put one in the rear. Twin scuba's and twin sill tanks is the way to go.

Just a note to say mine is OK now...............having a beer with the Rovertech guys and Steve said the timing was probably too far retarded..........I advanced it 3 degrees to around 9 (those pointers don't lend themselves to accuracy) and not had a problem since, about 4 weeks.

ah! thank you very much for the feed back

loanrangie - ta for that tip as well - coz I really didn't want to put it in the back & well yeah - but with those twin tanks - if i don't lose clearnce its all good 8) 8)

just another quick question - how does the gas system go with water crossing's? I am thinking to prep the rangie once I have the snorkle it will be a case of high temp silcon over major things like dis cap & plug connections? but I am not really sure if I have to worry about it either

The Rangie I use for serious Offroading is dual fuel, have no problems with water,.............have put silicon grease around spark plug rubber boots, dizzy cap joint, and liberal amounts of silicone spray over electrics in engine bay.
Probably the best thing though is the Wolf 3D which has helped make reliability 100% through all the water I have been through since installation, and I have been through water to bonnet high.

cool! Thx for that - I googled for the Wolf 3D - custom ecu not bad - I am guessing its more water proof then the one rover have in there?

I'd say with in 2 months time I'll have her sorted out pretty well

No, its certainly not more waterproof, if you install an aftermarket engine management system in a RR one of the recommended places is behind the front RH air conditioning vent, nice and high.
The Wolf 3D is old technology now ( I've had it for about 6 years), discussons with Dave McLachlan who is well versed in these matters, resulted in him recommending the Haltec E8 as being the most suitable for my use for my new RR project.
The advantage of using an aftermarket EMS is that it gets rid of the Air Flow meter and guts of the distributor, has dual maps for the dual fuel and IMHO makes the engine super reliable.

    Ah! now I get ya

I use custom maps for my suzuki 1300 - but I wasn't see'ing the use of it in the rover till you mention the maps for both gas & fuel! hehehe thats going to make it much better!

    Thank you very much mate!!
