Saisbury is a licenced built version of a Dana 60.
I believe the Dana is imperial dimensions and the Saisbury is metric.
If using a dana diff centre to need to use special imperial to metric bearings.??????????.
If you want to do a gear ratio change on a 101, just use a series three rear crown wheel and pinion.
You may have to use the series three diff centre as well.as the offset is different for different ratios.
Its far easier and cheaper to fit a overdrive and different transfercase ratios.
The transfercase I beieve doesnt have to come out to fit different ratios or the overdrive.
Playing with the transtercase and fitting the overdrive doesnt effect the low range gearing or the spacing of gear ratios on the main gear box.
My 101 at 100 kph is turning over at 2800rpm in overdrive and using range rover auto transfercase gears.
I never use overdrive around town...............and do unladen flat ground starts in 2nd gear and drive the vehicle as a 3 speed around town.
This is handy saving lots of gear changes in city traffic.
1st gear is plenty low enough for a hill start with that heavy trailer on the back or easy off roading without usi g low range..
Changing diff ratios to taller ones has the effect of spreading the main gearbox ratios futher apart.
