Better than the $775 I got quoted. Where from at that price?
The orders going in for this type of tyre , PM me if you want in.....
Price will go up slightly if theres more, Why because theres more to ship, and more duty and tax to pay. But it will not be alot more... Once i have a firm order amount i can give you exact prices per tyre landed including all taxes etc paid.
estimated shipping date will be late May. If theres anything else you need let me know and we can price up dimensions etc. Within reason ie, no Strikers, FV's or RB44 in this shippment, just parts...
I have now covered about 800km on the KM2s, unfortunately no offroad work at this stage. They still have some the moulding bits still on them and are completely quiet on the road. I think they are a bit wide and balloon a bit even at 32psi so the ride can be have a bit of a soft bounce as the tyres act like springs without dampers but is definitely riding softer. There is no flat spot on cold mornings so no thump thump thump from the tyres for the first 10km until they warm up.
So they certainly work great on the road and am looking forward to getting offroad soon to give them a try.

I haven't been using the 101 much lately and still hadn't tried the KM2s offroad so i thought I would take a trip up to the Brindabella's today. I had heard it was a bit damp up there so thought the muddies would get a good workout. There is a big mud hole up there but every time I have been there I have come to grief - first having to do a 80m winch and the second damaging the front bumper in a big hole - once more this time of year the mud and water is often frozen - so I determined to just stick to tracks.
The Brindies are normally pretty easy so I stayed at 30 psi. The first thing I found is that muddies might be good in mud but do not go so well in clay which is what you get up there. The tread soon clogged up but as the tyres are knew they were still able to grip.
Even though I have guard extensions the tyres still threw up a lot of crap completely covering the rear vision mirrors with mud. With the benefit of hindsight 315s are a bit too wide for a 101 but the slightly smaller tyres height wise seem to make the truck pull a bit better offroad - particularly in first.
Most of the trip was pretty easy except for one spot on a 120 degree turn on a low range hill - it was all covered in smooth sticky clay on the inside and deep muddy clay on the outside - the muddies soon filled up but I resisted spinning wheels and just let the 101 lug at 1000 rpm in 3rd low and it slowly pulled through. I think that new tyres make the difference.
So overall the KM2s are a great tyre, quiet on the road, they have a nice ride and work well off road - it is just a shame that they do not make them in a in a tall - slightly narrower tyre.

First or Second weekend in August is the winter rallie at the Abercombie.
May be able to compare tyres more then ????????
I now have Simex No 6 mounted on a widen spare rim.
I have not worked out where to fit the spare tyre it is much too wide to fit in the standard position behind the the driver.
If I get a flat I am in trouble, as the standard bar tread against the simex is a total miss match, especially on the rear axle because of the detroit locker.
I like the idea of twin swinging spare wheel carriers on the extreme rear of the vehicle, but the existing jerry can holders I think would rule this out.
One thing that I did notice was that the detroit is noisier and the CDL has some issues with the greater grip on these tyres.
There is less slip in the tyres so the detroit is unlocking a bit more due to windup and with a little more noise. With the CDL I normally engage it as soon as I am off the bitumen and have not had issues but yesterday when on good condition dirt the tyres were just not slipping so I was starting windup (my CDL chirps when I get transmission windup).
Neither is an issue but just means a slightly different driving style. The 101 does seem a bit happier with the slightly smaller diameter wheels and there is not much of a reduction in ground clearance,

Interesting to compare notes again
My detroit is totally noise free and so is my CDL.
The only time my detroit made a noise was when it was new and wearing in.
The vacuum diaphram actuator on my CDL failed recently causing the vehicle to be locked and I had to drive home on tarred roads about 120 km distance.
This was with the new simex tyres.
Every thing was normal except for the front tailshaft rattle which was twice as bad as normal , and it was the extra tailshaft rattle and the indicator light half coming on told me the vehicle was stuck in 4WD on a tarred road.
My new tyres have made no difference to the detroit or CDL in any way.
I know if tyre pressures are out a bit and therefore rolling Diameter the vehicle will pull to one side as the detroit doesnt like that much and I hate to think what fitting of a standard 900x16 and a Simex on the back axle would do to the steering and detroit.
As I said before the only issuses so far with the simex has been flat spotting, and I had that problem with the bar treads too.
The main problem may be the vehicle sits for long periods of time , its only a weekend warrior.
PS the simex are noisey at above 80 kph too.
