Thanks for the headsup but owing to a bad experience I no longer 'EBAY' these days.
It has given me an idea though - replace my coupling with a second hand unit and fit that spare thermo fan I have sitting around as a backup...

Sorry the brain cob-webs are in the way of the actual part number or model, however when my 1985 RRc was almost new in 1987 or 88 (4.4 carby V8 with RRc timing cover and waterpump) we fitted a Ford thermo fan because they were tens of dollars and not hundreds like the OEM Rover part. It would be worthwhile taking your spare to an auto-parts shop and comparing to commonly available ones.
