Didn't think they were that hard.. I've bought several things in. An off roader and a car. Neither had issue. Doing the research now at Regency re the LHD bit, and will b emailing customs over the next few days to see what the score is.

I've been chatting with a bloke in Holland who runs a truck brokering service, and he sent me a link to a Merc build, so I thought you might be interested in it: Mercedes Benz 1222AF Overland Truck | www.adventure-trucks.com

Cheers
David

Hello! That's certainly the type of body I'm looking at. As for the truck under it, I'm specifically looking for a slightly later chassis with the swept windows on the doors, and hub reduction axles. I've used/dealt with them before. They are good for big power, and have slim high clearance diffs. If your broker knows for an 1831AK around 96/97 Im interested!!

So, post up some pictures man!!

Sounds easier than importing a truck from Germany. Quicker too probably.

There's a bit of a story tho... Its not 4x4.. Its 6x4... Im chatting with a guy who will swap the Roadranger gearbox and 'Freightliner/Rockwell' bogie for a Merc gearbox, Transfercase, and a pair of hub reduction axles.. Will work out cheeper, and easier going this way rather than importing a LHD, paying for shipping, import etc etc and then converting it. Just looking into the logistics of axle swaps etc!
