While everyone is on wish list stuff
One of these was my first attempt at building an 'overland truck'.. Paid bugger all for it, as it 'needed work'! Came with an air cooled V8, hub reduction axles all round and a very basic Unimog style cab. The last of these were badged as Ivecos. Mine was on the change over and had both names on the front! It was noisy, slow, but fun! Eventually my father said he wanted the tractor shed back, so it had to go! Not the ideal truck, hence me now wanting a Merc!
Simon! Found your truck.
Ultimate Military Spec Caiman 6 Wheel Drive Chassis Truck GO ANY Where in North Albury, NSW | eBay
You can build your own camper on it.
That things a beast Mick!!!! And out of my price range!! But, I have found a truck and settled on it! In negotiations at the moment!!! The 101 will have to go tho to fund it!!!! If anyone knows of anyone who wants my Cummins powered beast, let me know. Here's the truck Im trying to buy.....
Ooooh - very interesting!
Can't go past a Mercedes.
What's the block of steel thingy on the front? Looks like it was used by the railways for pushing something....
Well Simon,, I'll take your truck (101) for you . Of course, I cant afford to pay you anything for it, BUT, I do promise I'll look after it and cherrish it and love it to bits
Good luck with the new buy dude, Hope you pull it off, and will look forward to seeing how it ends up .
For a couple of years I followed Rob Gray/Graynomad and the group "Wothahellizat", and other trucks referred to as WORTS. Some really cool designs/inventions in that lot.
See you in a few weeks dude
Looks to me like that truck is an ex snow plough.. The large block on the front is an implement mount, and the spreader bin for the salt is mounted on the frame on the rear.
The lighting is also a dead give away, pretty standard for this application...looks great..is it overseas? Looks a lot like one that Perisher are running,,
If it was an ex grittier Id be running a mile! It used to tow an airport runway sweeper, hence why the turntable is right at the back. There's also weights on the top of the chassis to help pull it all.. I think the front lugs r for a center mount brush. Yeah, its currently in Germany. I've found a source of parts to convert into RHD, just got to find the funds now!!!
How can you import a foreign truck? I thought it was just about impossible to import vehicles, or do the strict rules only apply to cars, and not trucks?
