    Commander Motorhome spotted in SA

Just met a guy at Craddock on monday in his brand new Commander palatial truck.

He hails from Canberra and had the truck built to his requirements. The two spares he carries are mounted on a special rear panel with a dedicated winch for each wheel. They are above head height as they sit. He has done a practise wheelchange and said its not a real problem on level ground.

Commanders are built in Queensland based on MAN chassis/mechanicals. Com and der added either side of MAN badge.

Craddock is very small town south of Hawker near the Flinders Ranges, with a population of 5 a pub gaining huge popularity with free camping out the back and the towns newest inhabitant has just built a beautiful war memorial close to the pub , soon to featured in the DVA website and newspaper.

yes , I think I'd be horrified at the price of a replacement tyre , I just bought 4 Falkens for $840. I think one tyre for that rig would cost that much.

Did see a few Iveco’s and even kitted out Mogs doing the Simpson last year. Great vehicles for that open country stuff

That's the main reason we are sticking with standard Duals on our truck. That and the fact that an 11R 22.5 is available for sensible money pretty well everywhere world wide.
