A long neck of Coopers is the best way of washing the infultrating dust from the throat.
The dust in mine comes from the bottom corners of the back door and the rear passenger doors.
These are the places that the assemblers neglect.
I guess that there is not much white dust south of Nowra....the west coast of Tassie is full of it and it was a great way of detecting leaks. I had to use Boags to wash it away though..;)
If it is any consolation the Disco was much worse in that department.
i now carry a tube of silastic in one hand and a sparkling ale in the other,,,,,,,,,:BigThumb:
,,gotta say ,,i am impressed with the traction control and diff lok,,,,,,,,,,, would like the t/control actuation switchable ,,,,,,,,,,,and some of the mechanical noise during operation makes my blood curdle:eek:
Don't confuse one for the other
I like the satisfying sound of gears and linkages coming together especially changing from high to low on the move..at least I know that something is happening...I really love the whine of the transmission in low range...I know that I should complain about it but it reminds me that I'm doing something out of the ordinary. :D
With regards to dust sealing you may have heard of comparative test undertaken between the effectiveness of the seals on the Defender and the Toyo troopie:
A cat was placed in each overnight.
The next morning each vehicle was inspected.
The Toyo was inspected first and the Toyota cat had died from lack of oxygen.
They then opened the Defender and there was no cat to be found.
The Defender cat was happily drinking from a bowl of milk placed just outside the rear door of the Defender.
An oldie but a goodie one iota:D
gold,,,,,,,,,,
The problem then is if you seal them too well the doors become difficult to shut properly because of the air displacement inside the car.
