I feel smug when I tell my D3 owning son that my Defender needs a 3rd clutch in 20,000km and that it spends so much time at the dealers it may end up one of the lowest km vehicles in Australia.

    LMFAO!

Tsk tsk, is that a hint of Range Rover envy I see amongst you?

    Let me see now............

The BEST Landy I ever sat in had (Wait for it!) a Range Rover Chassis and Drive line......................

Then again I dont consider anything with fuel injection to be a real 4WD anyway and dont get me started on bum warmers or electric anything.

    As for cup holders?

Thats why Jenn comes with me on long trips!

1984 baybee! it all went pear shaped after that.

Exactly what happened to a mate of mine. He wanted a Defender, the missus wouldn't let him ("Its ugly"). Ended up with a Discovery (which I never let him forget) and he hates it.

Well I have both and my L322 has been vice free and probably done more travelling across Oz than most defenders so I feel smug either way.It still has a loooooooooooong way to go to match my old Tdi defender though. Pat

    I have all three

Having a RRC 92 Vogue SE , Disco 03 TD5 SE, and 08 SVX Puma , I have to say I feel smug that i can drive all three when I want or have the urge to drive something different. All three have given me headaches at some point , but honestly ,I can't seem to let go of any of them and will probably get the wife into a D4 at some point when her D2 is EOL. I'll be struggling to trade that in I reckon as I like it too. Of the three the Rangie still is the most comfortable , but the SVX is the most fun ! Disco is the most reliable at this point. Hard to decide , guess that's why i still have them.

I feel smug when I compare the driveline components of my County to the matchsticks fitted to post Isuzu 110's.

I felt smug when I dragged off a tdi Defer and beat it by a car length. This smugness was also felt by both drivers as we drag raced past a marked Police car and the officers were not aware of any speed related hooliganism. Just two dirty diesels driving by.

I feel smug when a post Isuzu 110 tops out on the freeway as I keep picking up speed, slowly but acceleration is still there.

I feel smug as I admire my galvanized body bits not fitted to post 86 110's.

But the main reason I feel smug driving my Isuzu is due to the exhaust sitting below the passenger side footwell and the heat does not travel over to the drivers side, and that my AC doesn't work, so whilst my passenger is very comfortable in winter, I have to rug up, jacket up, and don a beanie.
