sure but Im up here in Ipswich (qld, near brissy) and you're down there in NSW...
at the end of the day there wont be much I can do when looking at it without putting it into a vehicle and then it either works or it doesnt.
sure I'd be able to find casting defects and jointing issues but as to giving it the official "oh yeah thats the ducks guts baby" that comes down to how well it performs.
If you're game enough to bring your vehicle up here and have it installed Im happy to help out there.
After reading some of your previous threads on the subject. I thought you might like to bench test it.
I have no dramas with fitting it, already cut an access point in the the floor.
But would never so no to any additional advice.
I'll let you know when it turns up.

the bench testing kit that I put together wasnt highly scientific and was more for testing the output of alternative pumps to fit into the housing...
I would not pull apart a complete unit just to cobble it onto my improvised test bench to find out that yes it work...
search the threads on pump installation and before you pull the old one out make up a chunk of sponge and wood that has cut outs in it to allow it to fit inside the ring and over the fittings. place the sponge on the top, the wood over that and then use that to push down on the pump housing while you do up the screw ring.
the screw ring does not have to be super tight to make the seal work.
Guys .. as someone who has been in this situation, check your fuel pump relay .. I have found 2 mates who thought it was the pump and it was the relay !! :o
Yep under warranty that happened to me. Put it off for a bit then one day it just wouldn't start. Roadside assisst no questions asked had the car back that afternoon.

Hi, just looked at LRDirect and the Allmakes pump is 200+ pounds, is there a typo in your post or have they doubled the price I wonder. Have recently acquired a 2000 TD5 and considering it a good idea to carry a spare on the planned big expedition. Thanks, Chris M.

Those who buy the cheaper aftermarket pump will often find themselves buying an OEM version not long after.
Add to that, a tow, recovery etc... And there are no savings to be made...

I'd agree, OEM or nothing. However, note that you cant just swap it out in the middle of the bush unless you've previously cut an access hatch in the floor, or are prepared to drop the tank to get to it.
