On another note, I have just sent Land Rover themselves a lengthy email drawing their attention to this thread and the whole story, will see what comes of it!
I know a cinematographer eho is a landy tragic and would most likely be interested in this story. Pm me if you are interested?

Has Jim let you know I will be picking it up on Saturday Lockee? By the way what sort of beer do you drink? Should be there around lunchtime.

After a 21 year hiatus, the County formerly known as CTI 060, has returned to its original home. Albeit in need of a bit of tlc after 31 years of offroad action, its in generally good nick and a great base for a bit of a refurbishment. Watch this space to see it return to its former glory. Big thanks again to Jim, for agreeing to part with it even though he has owned it for longer than we ever did, and also to Jason for making the connection. Hopefully one day we can all go for a scoot in the old girl.
Next step, work out a plan to replace the tired p76 motor Jim put in years ago...

    Outstanding!
Congratulations to all concerned. Caring, persistence, selflessness, generosity and decency.
In this world there are takers, givers and those in the middle who watch.
No question about the high proportion of givers in the LR world.
    Cheers, BDave.

In 1999 when I brought this 110 , that I called The Red Rooter . I had no idea of it's history other than it had had a service at Esperance . I do know there is something special about this truck . I kept it for 17 years , buying another two after this one . I never really wanting to part with it . Then through this forum the request came ? Someone is looking for my 110 county . I couldn't be more pleased how this story has gone . It has now gone back to John and his family . Once he puts his own mark on it I think they will get a lot of pleasure from the old girl as I have . I can only wish him and his young family all the very best . Lovely to see it go through those gates , she's gone home . Jim
