poly air v 130 dual spring setup in a 110

I also have tried both. First polyairs which failed due to rubbing on the coils, then I managed to find a set of inner brackets from a Perentie RFSV and fitted a set of inner coils (WB Statesman front springs will fit straight in). This setup I have used for about 15yrs. Great for load carrying but a little harsh when empty. The advantage is that you can easily remove the inner and have a good ride until you want to go on a trip or carry a heavy load. I wouldn't have polyairs again - waste of money imho.

These bump stops are on my 110 c/chassis.They touch the diff when I've got a ton on and ute sit's level,they still allow some upward movement from then on. When unladen they allow spring to work normally, though I suspect articulation might be affected -never been a problem
They were on ute when I bought it, local "expert" at accessories store reckon they're standard L/R but I haven't seen them on other 110's (were they fitted to 110 c/chassis?)
Would be easy to fit and remove if not needed, just 2x2 bolts

Brett, you have sway bars on your Tdi 110 cab/chassis :o! Mine never came with them. Do you know if it came with them from new? I have always just assumed the utes never had them. I bought mine when it was 5 years old, but it was ex-government so I assumed it hadn't been messed with.

Now that I have a 130 I've realised what I've been missing all these years with on-road performance and why I struggle to keep up with 110 wagons over mountain roads.

OK I promised a report on the new springs after my 900km drive to MEL. with the new White Tiger 180lb fronts and 320lb rears (with PolyAirs). The vehicle was modestly laden - 45L extra fuel in the Dolium RHS rear quarter tank, the extra weight of the wheel carrier and steel rack and a couple of boxes. Tyres set to 38 PSI front and 40 back.

The first difference I noticed was the compliance of the front springs. Less skipping and bumping over road joins, and more general comfort. More travel too - it's nice feeling some of that travel instead of a jolt with the HDs. The rears though made a huge difference. The extra spring rate has made cornering and stability dramatically better than factory - noticeable when overtaking B-doubles at speed and not getting shoved and wobbled around anywhere as much.

The rate in the rears is firmer than before but not too harsh - just a good compromise. I left the poly airs at the delivered 9 PSI setting, which is just enough to stop the bags contacting the coil gaps and provide a secondary firmness in very large drop offs.

All in all the ride and handling is hugely improved over the standard rears and HD fronts. This will only improve laden, and am looking forward to trying them out in NOV with a trailer and load. I would recommend the White Tiger/PolyAir combination highly.

Some of the loads I carry would be pretty hairy without it!

Not OE, looks like an Aeon Rubber to me.

If it is, Repco used to market them in Oz, been around forever.

I've heard of this happening a few times with Polyairs, and the Oz made Polyairs seem to fail where the air line feeds into the bag too.

A number of people on here have sourced the Firestone poly bags from the US and so far I can't recall anyone reporting a failure, which doesn't mean it hasn't happened, but I'm just wondering if their QC is a bit better ?

Unusual to see a 110 cab/chassis with ARB's front and rear, but the chassis mounts are there so it's just a bolt in.

I've driven a 130 with a camper body on the back and it was hairy in the corners, and it was running 540lb+ the standard 140lb inners :eek:
Talk about wallow and roll....but it did tare out at over 3 tonne unladen.

My 130 has had a few hundred kg of steel up top (the Rhino racks were bowing :angel: ) and it was fine with the standard 330lb+140lb spring combo, and I was expecting it to wallow around with the CofG so high after the experience with the other 130.

Brett, I think you'll find they are Toyota 80 series factory rear bump stops. I have a set I was going to trial in a D1 for heavy towing, but never got round to it.

Might use them in the 110 but:D
