    longranger 127l tank leaking...

    Hi Guys

My tank is leaking quite considerably... only when full but its difficult to see where it is coming from... the only place i can see is from what i think is the breather pipe that comes from the top of the tank on the drivers side, into a rubber pipe, over the chassis rail and up toward the filler, its hard to see anything around there, however if the install was not done 'well' and the rubber pipe was kinked, what would be the chances of the pipe splitting? its the only place i can see that it can possibly come from as there is deisel at that point.. and its the highest point on the tank.

Also does anyone know if the breather pipe can be replaced with 'standard' pipe or do i have to order a genuine pipe? if standard pipe can be used... do you know what size it is?

    Thanks

    Steve

could it be coming from the locking ring ? i have had 3 replaced in the last 5 months due to not sealing , how the repairers could muck this up ? and now it seems to have gone hard and leaks when full.

    Hi Trog

By Locking ring are you talking about round the pump?

If thats the case i dont think it can be as on the LR tank the pump sits lower than the panel the breather sits on (2 different level horizontal surfaces) and the panel the breather sits on is covered in deisel...

Thanks for the suggestion tho... i can see a tank drop occuring soon...

    Tank

    G'Day Steve,
The Hose can be replaced with any fuel hose or filler hose, you will need to drop the old one off from a sample and then track one down, I dont think you will be able to buy the hose from the supplier and if you could it would take some ordering and quite some cost !

If you cant get in there well enough try supporting the tank from under with a jack or stand and then undo some bolts to lower the tank enough to check it out !

Feel free tofire any more questions.

    Cheers
    Jeremy
