    hi all got a question hope some one can help i have got a 98 defender 110
    tdi with full maxi drive axle conversion and up graded cvs no lockers YET.
    allso full suspension rebuild 50 thou ago including all bushes ome shocks
    upgraded front drive shaft&rear shaft &springs,upgraded steering arms.
    tie rod ends and new clutch and fly wheel machine she has 278000ks.
    my problem is i seem to be getting rear axle hop last 20000 or so more so under load with
    camper on or no load backing up hill it was there before the new clutch
    the shudder or hop is not there going forward unless i go into first at a couple of ks an hour then there is a slight sought of slip other then this she drives like new
    ths vehicle works fairly hard as we spend most of our time up in the gulf
    the sensation is strange hop or lifting up could this be diff crown&pinion
    any in put appreciated

    G'day Mudder, Unlikely to be cw & p. It possibly could be transmission windup releasing itself if it occurs when both axles are locked and cdl engaged. Other than that I would be checking bushes/shockies.
