Just returned from a little trip up north and recovered this little beauty. It's a 1985 V8 4 speed one owner from new. Has only done 280K and although the paintwork is u/s there is not a dent in the body anywhere. Motor is not very healthy but it is destined to receive a 4BD1 transplant and TRB for the transfer. Surprisingly the chassis is rust free and there is very little in the rest of the body, even the front doors are good, the left rear and the barn door are the worst, and a small bit in the drivers side firewall floor. Lots of little things to do that will take plenty of time which I don't have at the moment but this will be a long time project. A couple of photos of damage from Yasi in the Cardwell/Tully rainforest area attached. Had to wait for 7 hours beside the road due to flooding between Townsville/Ingham/Cardwell and then they only allowed trucks and 4wds through. Was starting to wonder if I was going to get home as the Seymour river was coming up and down and the rain was pretty heavy in the area. Had a very enjoyable night in Cairns courtesy of a friend and forum member. Luckily the rain eased overnight and the flood levels were down when I returned home.

Nice to see the Landy has been saved Brian. Good luck with the rebuild.
We have friends at Cardwell. They got through Yasi without too much damage. Must ring them tonight to see if they are socialising with Royalty
Apparently Prince William is visiting the area, which is very nice.
Anyway, make sure you put up lots of info & pics of your rebuild.
Cheers mate, Erich
Hi
is that the one that was on ebay.
Thanks Erich, Yeah I was just watching that on TV, it will be a morale booster for the local folk. Not only the devastation but the incessant rain since then would be taking it's toll - must be frustrating for the poor buggers. Hope the royal visit lifts their spirits a bit. It was amazing to see that some houses/sheds came through unscathed and others nearby totallled. Guess it was the gusts that hit some and missed the others.

Hi,
It looks like the A/C model (which I have) and I wish you well with that. What is the story behind the trimmed bull bar? That I have not seen before.
Nice one Bearman...sounds like a good solid base. What's the interior like, in pretty good nick.
Paul
Thanks Paul, The interior is not too bad, all the seats are still intact and in reasonable condition, a good clean up and shampoo will bring them up. Floor carpets are ok but faded a bit (have to look for some dye to brighten them up). The dash is ok except for the instrument panel and surround. All aircon controls work so wont be a major to get it operating when I fit the Suzi, just need a aircon bracket setup for the Suzi. The gearbox and drivetrain looks and feels ok just needs a good clean and degrease and then fix the oil leaks. Nothing that can't be fixed with a bit of sweat.
Cheers......Brian
