Hey man,

Go find your nearest metal scrap yard, and rent a MIG welder for a week from your local hire place. Pick up some scrap metal and just experiment. The best training is experience, and you'll figure it out. Youtube is your friend and there are tons of welding videos!

Plus it's a great skill to have!

I wouldn't think welding on a chassis would be a good place for a beginner to start.

ask around in the clontarf industrial estate i had some welding done there but unsure now who

If you are willing to drive to the southside then I know a guy who still only charges $30/hr - does good work.
