Thanks mate, but TD5 engines still pull big bucks over here: the build standard of the Puma in South Afriuca is p1ss-poor, with diffs and gearboxes failing, chassis and axle alignment issues, etc., and the guys in the know hang onto their TD5s like grim death.
A good TD5 engine, with gearbox and ECU, would cost me upwards of US$6000, no jokes.
Since the 110 only cost me US$5000, I reckon that's an over-capitalisation, and would take me 5 years to break even.
The cost, elecktrickery plus ECU is the issue here.
Yes, around US$2,500 for a genuine low kilo Japanese sourced import.
I can also get the Mazda/Ford WL25 for around US$1000 and the Nissan Terrano TD27T for around US$1,500.
The latter two are at the bottom of the required power spec, but cheaper and easier to source.
I'd probably move the aircon radiator to somewhere under the vehicle with a small auxiliary fan, and then install an intercooler in front of the standard V8 radiator.
Yes but the fd35 is far stronger, add turbo and fuel it up and itll move well
Someone on here has one in an rr classic, trying to remember who
There is a TDI 130 that has been rolled sitting in the Bunbury 4WD wreckers can't remember the kms etc but the motor and gearbox were all there last time I looked.
I know this is a couple of months old, but apparently there were adapters available in the UK to bolt the FD35/T to at least the LT95 and maybe the later 'boxes too.
Can't find out ATM who was supplying them, but here's an ebay link to an engine and kit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2906895295...9#ht_500wt_949
I have found a couple of local companies that still do various V8 bolt pattern adapters.
But Engine-Conversion.com have a few kits as well.
