    Centre Diff light not illuminating

Well my Centre Diff light is not illuminating when I have the transfer lever pushed across to diff lock.

I'm hoping this may be something as simple s a fuse (which one?) or bulb. How would I check that?

What other causes could there be?

Without access to a decent jack at the moment, and the only "flat" ground I have being the road outside my house (flat"ish") is there are way of checking whether the dif lock is properly functioning?

Probably posted about this before but really don't have time to search extensively at the moment. Thank You
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Pretty sure to check if its engaged, you jack up one front wheel with the handbrake on, the wheel should not spin if engaged.
It could be the switch on the transfer box, they fail sometimes.

Is it the same diff lock light as in this thread?

Did you end up getting stuck crossed up on a spoon drain?

Using the car jack (the little bottle jack), jack up 1 wheel (any), with the CDL unlocked that lifted wheel should spin when you give it drive, then lock the CDL and see if the car tries to drive itself off the jack, easy as it will take 2 minutes (depending on how fast you can jack lol), but i have done it many times for friends to check that it is functioning.

Haha if you get the car too crossed up even with the CDL locked you wont drive out lol, unless you ride the brakes (which incidentally got me out of a bad situation in the D1 the other day, makes you r4ealise how easy the D2 is to drive offroad with a CDl and TC working at the same time (hotwired)

    Rainman - yes it's that one. D'oh.

No not stuck. Just had to exit a chained off car park negotiate a 4wd obstacle and light didnt come on. Reminded me it as like that last time too.

I'll try the jack and spin thing on Saturday. Cheers

Traction Control in the Puma works a treat in conjuntion with the CDL - got me out of a squeeze.

Its probably not the fuse.....it could be just the switch being lazy.....
Mine did the same thing a while back....then a few mins later the light came on.....
Prob just mud on the switch causing it stick....
Try moving the lever back and forth a few times....between diff lock and unlock....
