I got out of a Disco into a D'fer (best move ever),

In the Disco, would be lucky to get 2 out of 10, in the D'fer (PUMA) must be 6's or 7's....

Just keep waving, it's how we roll...

Sorry Discos and RR are rapid departues from a true Rover an they do not qualify. It's rather simple actually.
    Excuse me!

Can I see a Puma Defender in your avatar?

If it were not for the Range Rover and Discovery the your Land Rover would still be on leaf springs and would have gone the way of the Rover car and dodo bird.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Thats Flawed Logic.

If it Wasn't for Leaf Sprung Landrovers , You Would not have a Range Rover.

If it Wasn't For Range Rover you would not have a Disco.

Isn't the Iveco Massif or a Santana 4wd based on a Series 3 still with leaf springs? There is life in the design yet

I pretty much only get waves from tdci's. The few counties and 300tdis I see don't wave.

Hasnt the IVECO Massif also gone the way of the dodo? Has been replaced by the Daily 4X4! The Massif is no longer listed on the IVECO website Europe Iveco United Kingdom

Not flawed logic at all. The Range Rover was indeed a new platform developed from the Series 2/2a platform and I wave at both Series/Defender Land Rovers and Range Rover/Discovery based vehicles whether I am in a Series, Defender, Range Rover or Disco.

However if it were not for the Range Rover and subsequently Discovery models, the Land Rover marque would have been wound up like Rover, MG, Triumph and Austin cars were wound up as unprofitable unsuccessful brands.

It is only the Discovery Series one which was basically a new body on a Range Rover chassis that saved Land Rover from the scrap heap of failed British Motor manufacturers. Yes Range Rover may have succeeded as a small volume niche manufacturer like Aston Martin and Jaguar etc and that was the direction Ford PAG was positioning it, but Defender's future was looking very bleak under Ford. Ford PAG were so unfaithful to Defender that they didn't even submit it for Australian Army tender that Land Rover had held since 1958.

How did a friendly post on how many waves someone is getting in a Defender compared to a how many he got in a Discovery warrant that kind of reply? And by a moderator no less..

And keep on waving peoples.. sooner or later we will win over the 'non wavers'..

Sue, my post was not about Drovers wave count.

The reply was to busrangers earlier post about how he hides under the dash to avoid returning a wave to a frequently waving Disco driver in his local area. Then he goes onto claim that Rangies and Discos don't deserve a wave because they are too deviant from LR. IMHO thats pure justification for my reply.

My apologies.. I didn't even see the quotation in your original reply..

And I agree.. I have waved at disco drivers myself several times.. if someone waves at me I'll wave back regardless of what they drive..
