About 2 weeks and 2000kms into ownership & 100% waving from/to other defender owners, which would be about four times I reckon. Even accidentally waved from my wife's subaru the other day. Love it - I've had older cars in the past & it's nice to get the wave thing going on a daily driver.

    Talking Wave Education

Two Defenders & Two Discoverys later my wife & I feel it's our mission to wave to ALL types of Land Rover/Range Rover owners. The Disco & Rangie owners seem to be a little reluctant to join in but that's just part of the fun. Currently in our new Puma & loving the camaraderie. If I have to explain ya wouldn't understand is a constant to most JAP owners.

I do feel that there is a little anti Puma out there & I wonder if this was the case on all the model/engine changes or is it just that we got lumbered with the Ford hand me down. I still reckon it's a shame that the V6 Tdi ( re D3/4 ) wasn't fitted to the Defender but while she's still a Land Rover I will support her all the way.

I wonder whether there's a far greater % of first time Landy owners with the TDCi as quite a few IME seem reluctant to raise a finger, let alone a hand

I got three waves yesterday. Some dude at the Duck Inn (local hotel) watched me drive past, pointed and waved. Then a couple in a Puma 90 both waved madly as we passed heading in opposite directions over Cross Road.

Funniest one of all was the wave I got from a 70 Series Cruiser driver. He went out of his way, and almost out of his window to wave and give me the thumbs up from the other side of the road.

My wife couldn't believe the attention. I just reminded her that she was riding in an icon. She didn't understand

I have had that happen to us before, my thought is he was probably in his work truck and forgot it wasn't a land rover. There was mention of driving the wife's Subaru and waiving

    oops

Sorry to the guy in the red 110 I flashed & waved to at Diamond Creek today,
didn't realise my headlight hi-beam flash jammed on until next time I looked at the speedo. Gotta love the Lucas electric's. (btw how bright are my LED headlamps ?)

Good point, I didn't think of that. Makes some sense now.
