I've had several waves from Defender drivers on Sydney's northern beaches this week.
On the way into Dubbo this morning got an enthusiastic (arm out of window!) wave from a Perentie heading the other way on the Mendooran Road. Anyone from here? (I was in the blue County, and yes, I did return it).

A few days a go we received an E-mail from Mazda on this very subject but I don't think they had thought it through very well. What was ok for Land Rovers is not ok today with a modern car & it's reflective & tinted windscreen.
Today's cars inc Mazdas, are not the same as "yesterdays" vehicles with quick action sliding glass, flat screen, (Thank God,) and there are so many on the road as to make them invisible anyway.
I do not intend to locate a window switch, wait until the window drops @ even 60kmh to wave at someone, another Mazda owner or not.
IDIOTS! You can't play catch-up with today's Technology.
Yesterday while passing though my old stomping ground of 25 years ago I received waves from a bronze and then white 110’s by the shops in Bellevue Road, Bellevue Hill! Saw a number of parked shorties in Rose Bay, Watson’s Bay and Bondi Beach. Black seems to be the colour of choice. They still seem to be trendy in this part of town! We were also in our black shortie..
Cheers

Growing up as a child and then teen in my dads early 90's 110 I used to ponder and be embarrassed about the wave all the time. Now, owning my own 110, I find myself giving everyone the wave; Or the one finger of the wheel. But - this topic hits the nail on the head. 4/5 of the last defender's I've seen in my travels haven't offered anything back in the slightest! I cant tell you the level of red mist that hits me when I don't get a wave back, especially when you watch them, watch you!
Saw a dark green 130 HPCU wit a white roof in the main street of Yass today but I was in the ute and he was in the back playing with a fridge....

Has anyone noticed that hipster Puma owners are the worst. At not waving. Never have a problem with TDI or Td5 owners.
