I was in my Red D4 in Darwin last week; got a very rare double wave from Defender 90, and a bit of UHF chatter from another D4...
Then didnt see another LR of any variety until Bourke, NSW which had a few D4 getting about!!
Had two waves this week so far. First from a rare banana yellow Td5 shorty and another from a white 110 with a roof rack. I have seen him around the Haweksbury quite a bit recently.
I wave to any Land Rover vehicle. No probs with other Def owners and those with older Disco's. The Dahlings in their late Disco's, Evoques, Rangies and Velars are something else though. Some stare ahead like robots. Sometimes I might get a reaction such as a quick glance. Older dad 'n mum dahlings are good: "Dahling, who was that person in that green jeep thing who waved at us? The cheek!". Always lotsa targets around the NatCap.
Shall keep sussing, looking for fuel tank diagrams. RecMec.

I have a problem...a dilemma. I don't regard the new one badged as a Defender as a true Defender. So will I only wave in return...yes or no?
It bears about as much relation to the original as the current VW beetle does to the original. In both cases the vehicle is aimed at a completely different market, and has nothing in common in the design.
