After driving my Disco for the last 10 years, I was no longer noticing the absence of "the wave". Which normally constitutes the uncurling of 4 fingers from the steering wheel and pointing them towards the roof. From the same hand of course..... :)
But within the first couple of days of driving my '90, I got waved at by a fellow defender driver. I have to admit that the comeradery of the wave felt great for a few minutes, and it certainly rammed home just how much I had missed that comeradery from when I drove my Series' vehicles.
Sadly, it's the only series or defender I have passed since then...... Or perhaps it's a case of me not noticing???? I hope not. But for some reason I haven't seen many series/county/defenders in my travels in the last 1.5 weeks that could be waved at in a semi degnified manner. They must drive to work at a different time than me..... :-)
Cheers,
Phill.
